Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Labstronaut. By registering for an account or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Labstronaut is an online directory and communication platform for NHS and healthcare laboratories in the United Kingdom. It allows registered laboratories to list their test repertoire, communicate with other laboratories, and build referral information. Labstronaut is operated by Ben Nicholson, trading as Labstronaut (ben@labstronaut.com).
Labstronaut is currently in a trial phase and is provided free of charge during this period. Pricing may be introduced in the future, at which point registered users will be given advance notice.
Access to Labstronaut is currently restricted to:
By registering, you confirm that you are an authorised representative of a qualifying organisation and that you have the authority to agree to these terms on their behalf.
Labstronaut is an information directory only. It is not a clinical decision support tool, does not provide medical advice, and does not make recommendations about patient care or treatment. All information on the platform is provided by registered laboratories for informational purposes only.
Labstronaut accepts no responsibility for clinical decisions made on the basis of information found on the platform. Users must verify all test information directly with the relevant laboratory before acting on it.
Each registered laboratory is solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of the information they upload to Labstronaut. Labstronaut does not verify, audit, or guarantee the accuracy of any test information listed on the platform.
Labstronaut accepts no liability for errors, omissions, or outdated information provided by registered laboratories. Users should always confirm referral requirements directly with the receiving laboratory before sending samples.
By using Labstronaut, you agree not to:
Do not share patient-identifiable information through Labstronaut under any circumstances. The platform is not designed, assessed, or approved for the transmission of patient data. Any messaging or communication features must be used for laboratory-to-laboratory operational discussions only, not for sharing patient records or identifiable clinical information.
All test information, laboratory details, and content uploaded by a registered laboratory remains the property of that laboratory. Labstronaut does not claim ownership of your data.
By uploading data to Labstronaut, you grant Labstronaut a non-exclusive licence to store and display that data on the platform for the purpose of providing the service. Labstronaut will not sell, share, or commercially exploit your data without your explicit consent.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You should notify Labstronaut immediately at ben@labstronaut.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
Labstronaut is provided on an "as is" basis. While we aim to keep the platform available at all times, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and accept no liability for downtime, data loss, or service interruptions. As the platform is in a trial phase, features may change, be added, or be removed without notice.
Labstronaut reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time if these terms are breached, if the platform is misused, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting ben@labstronaut.com.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Labstronaut shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to errors in test information, service interruptions, or decisions made on the basis of platform content.
Labstronaut's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Labstronaut in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during the free trial period, is nil).
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Registered users will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
